MORTGAGE REPORTS PROVIDE REASSURANCE ABOUT EXISTING TREES
Miss Russell was interested in buying a terrace house in South London but the building surveyor appointed by her lender had concerns about a mature tree growing in the front garden.
The house was in good order but the information regarding the tree was holding up the sale. A site inspection was carried out and the report was e-mailed to Miss Russell and her lender the next day.
The tree in question was not thought to be a significant risk due to the soil type, tree species and the tree’s distance from the flat.
Miss Russell was offered a mortgage and building insurance on the property and was happy to have a magnificent tree offering shade in the front garden, which she now owns.
“The stress was building and I had to move out soon from the flat I was renting. To have all the information I needed to complete the sale in such a short time was a great help”.
